Developments in Data for Rare and Less Common Cancers – 22nd May 2019
In collaboration with cancer52 we held an innovative one-day event focussing on the developments in the production and use of data for rare and less common cancers.
Working through the data pathway, leading experts shared insights on data collection processes, how data is used in analysis and research and the improvement it can support for services and patient outcomes. A range of speakers from across the cancer data community were involved with talks from charity, clinical and patient representatives.

- The event was attended by 81 delegates from across the cancer data community and of those who completed the feedback survey 61% rated the event ‘Excellent’ and 39% rated it ‘Good’.
- One of the aims of the event was to reach new audiences, and 38% of delegates had never attended an NCRAS event in the past.
- 97% of survey respondents said they would attend a similar targeted event for rare and less common cancers
- 84% said they would attend a similar event for other cancer data topics.
Due to the success of this event, NCRAS will be hosting at least 2 targeted 1-day events from 2020 onwards.
