Are all cancers covered and how do we measure the progress we are making?
Yes. We all know that cancer isn’t one disease, and that even cancer that arises in the same part of the body can behave very differently in different people. There are many different causes and risk factors and these affect us in various ways. To help us understand all the causes of cancer, monitoring cancer is a major international effort and NDRS follows an international classification system that’s recommended by the World Health Organisation, so that they can compare what’s happening to cancer patients in the England with what happens elsewhere in the world.
