Does it include GP data?
The National Disease Registration Service (NDRS) does not have access to your GP records, but they do know if your GP has sent you to hospital with suspected cancer as you should be seen by a specialist within two weeks. They collect data about your disease through the hospital or specialist centre that’s treating you, not from your GP systems. However, NDRS, Cancer Research UK, Macmillan Cancer Care, and the Royal College of General Practitioners have recently been asking a small number of GPs about their patients with cancer to help understand how patients can present to their doctor and how doctors can detect cancer earlier.
