Trust Guidance

Guidance for the Cancer Registration leaflet

Trusts should make sure that patients are provided with information about cancer registration at an appropriate time after a cancer diagnosis.

We have produced guidance to help support trusts.

The guidance document explains

  • what staff should know about cancer registration
  • what trusts should be doing to increase awareness about cancer registration to patients and healthcare professionals

You can download the guidance here.

Local Arrangements form

Each trust must complete a Local Arrangements form, which must be updated every year. This is a request from the National Data Guardian (NDG). The information from the forms helps us to understand and inform the NDG how the leaflet is being used and distributed to patients affected by cancer.

You can download the Local Arrangements here. Once completed, please send it to NDRSenquiries@nhs.net

Frequently Asked Questions

A Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document about cancer registration is also available. You can download this here.

Digital leaflet

We have developed a digitally accessible version of the Cancer Registration patient leaflet. Over the next 3 months, we are working with a number of trusts to pilot different ways of distributing the digital leaflet to patients and to help develop guidance for all trusts.

If you work for a trust and you would like to take part in the pilot, please email us at NDRSenquiries@nhs.net and we will send you the digital leaflet and more information.
